

EWING YOUNG SEES GREAT RESULTS FROM REVAMPED SALES AND MARKETING APPROACH

Ewing Young, based in Newberg, is a growing Oregon spirits brand founded in 2017. They have a line-up of craft spirits ranging from corn and potato vodkas, gins and a variety of bourbon and rye whiskies. The brand is known for high quality throughout its product line and all products are sold at premium prices.

In mid-2023, Ewing Young set out to further improve its presence in the Oregon marketplace, while also considering growth into other market areas. With limited internal staff and regular turnover in tasting positions, they saw challenges achieving growth targets.
How Epicentric Responded
Epicentric responded to the opportunity by offering a reasonably priced tasting service program designed to complement Ewing Young’s existing tasting team and expand its reach. We trained our staff on the brand story and on effective techniques to drive bottle sales.
After successful summer and fall 2023 tasting schedules, Ewing Young asked Epicentric to take over and manage its internal tasting team for Q4. Engagement of Epicentric in mid-2023, and expansion of our role, allowed Ewing Young’s in-house sales team to do more. They had more time to focus on building new accounts, maintain the already strong reputation of Ewing Young in existing accounts and work on new opportunities.
Epicentric tasting bottle sales averaged 12+ bottles through 2023, including a strong December sales performance which averaged 17 bottle sales per tasting.
Epicentric also supported Ewing Young’s Fall Whiskey Festival with bartending and tasting staffing. The event was very successful and well-attended. Integration of the Epicentric team into the event not only helped build the success of the event, but also helped build the Epicentric team’s engagement with the brand, thus improving overall tasting sales.

Ewing Young was very happy with its partnership with Epicentric and the value generated through our services. With Epicentric support, Ewing Young was able achieve an overall 56% year-over-year sales growth. Existing product same store sales growth was 33% over 2022 and another 23% sales growth was achieved through increased distribution, including new item placements and new store distribution.
Further integration of the Epicentric service offering is planned for 2024. The in-house Ewing Young sales rep has joined the Epicentric leadership team and will continue to lead the charge to drive sales and marketing results for Ewing Young, while additional Epicentric resources will also support Ewing Young’s 2024 growth plan.
